Salami Cheese Chilla

Crispy besan chilla stuffed with chicken salami and melted cheese.

Ingredients

Batter

  • 1 cup besan
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper or red chili powder
  • 2โ€“3 tbsp chopped spring onions
  • Water as needed

Filling

  • 4โ€“6 chicken salami slices, pre-cooked
  • 2 cheese slices or grated cheese
  • A little oil or ghee for the pan

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix besan, salt, pepper, and chopped spring onions. Add water gradually to make a smooth, pourable batter.

  2. Heat a pan and lightly grease it. Pour the batter and spread it into a chilla. Cook until the bottom sets.

  3. Add the pre-cooked chicken salami and cheese on top. Fold the chilla over the filling.

  4. Cook both sides until golden and slightly crisp, and let the cheese melt inside. Serve hot.


Note: Since the salami is already cooked, you only need to warm it through inside the chilla, which also helps keep it juicy.
