The cook behind the kitchen
Vijaya Laxmi
Software engineer by day, home cook by heart. I believe good food should be wholesome, joyful, and never boring.
My Story
My journey with cooking started from a place many people will relate to — living alone and needing to feed myself. What began as a necessity slowly became something much more meaningful. Over time, cooking turned into a space of comfort, creativity, and calm. It became my way to unwind, to care for myself, and to feel grounded no matter how busy life got.
The real inspiration behind this website came when I started thinking more deeply about the people I love. I wanted my family to enjoy food that felt both nourishing and satisfying — food that was healthy, but still just as delicious, comforting, and exciting as the dishes we naturally crave. That idea stuck with me: healthy food doesn't have to feel boring, restrictive, or bland.
The recipes here are simply the food I cook in my own home — honest, practical, tasty meals made for real life. Some are everyday staples, some are comfort foods, some are lighter choices, and some are experiments that worked so well they earned a permanent place in my kitchen. I'm not chasing perfection — just food that feels good to make and even better to eat.
In a life that often feels fast-paced and structured, the kitchen gives me a different kind of rhythm — one that's slower, more intuitive, and deeply personal. Through this little corner of the internet, I hope you find something that inspires you to cook, to eat a little better, and to enjoy the process as much as the plate.
